DESCRIPTION
The Lock Plate, also known as Part Number 156083, is a small metal plate that is used in automotive applications to secure components in place. The plate is typically installed between a bolt and a nut or between two nuts to prevent them from coming loose due to vibrations or other forces. The lock plate is designed with one or more tabs that bend over the edges of the fasteners, creating a mechanical lock that prevents them from rotating. This small but important part can be found in various locations throughout the vehicle, including the suspension system, steering linkage, and drivetrain components. Without lock plates, critical parts could become loose and compromise safety on the road.
