DESCRIPTION
The Lock Plate (551117) is a small metal component designed to secure other truck components in place. It is typically used in the steering column assembly, where it prevents the steering wheel from becoming loose or disconnected from the rest of the steering system. The Lock Plate is shaped like a circular ring with several tabs that fit into corresponding slots on the steering column. Once installed, it holds the upper and lower components of the column together and prevents them from rotating independently of each other. This helps ensure that the driver can steer with precision and control, even when making sudden or sharp turns. The Lock Plate is an essential safety feature for any truck, as it helps prevent accidents caused by loss of control over the vehicle's direction.
