DESCRIPTION
An expansion plug, also known as a freeze plug or welch plug, is a small metal disc that is inserted into the engine block of a truck to seal off holes left by the casting process. The expansion plug is designed to expand when exposed to high temperatures and pressure, effectively sealing off any gaps or holes in the engine block. This prevents coolant from leaking out and causing damage to the engine. The 161825 expansion plug is a specific part number used by certain truck models and should be replaced if it becomes damaged or corroded over time.
