DESCRIPTION
An Expansion Plug, also known as a freeze plug, is a small metal disc that is inserted into the engine block to seal off a hole where coolant flows through. It is typically made of brass or steel and its purpose is to expand and contract with the temperature changes within the engine. This helps prevent cracking or damage to the engine block due to freezing temperatures or overheating. The Expansion Plug (Part Number 4096114) can be found in various locations throughout the engine block and must be properly installed to ensure proper function.
