DESCRIPTION
An expansion plug, also known as a freeze plug or core plug, is a small, circular metal component that is inserted into the engine block of a truck. The purpose of this part is to seal off an opening in the block that was created during the casting process. The expansion plug is designed to expand slightly when exposed to high temperatures and pressure, which helps it remain firmly in place and prevent leaks. It also serves as a safety feature by allowing excess pressure to be released from the engine if necessary. The 554416 expansion plug is specifically manufactured for use in certain truck models and should be installed according to manufacturer specifications for optimal performance.
