DESCRIPTION
An Expansion Plug, also known as a freeze plug or welch plug, is a small circular metal piece that fits into the holes in an engine block or cylinder head. The expansion plug is designed to seal these holes and prevent coolant from leaking out of the engine. When the coolant freezes and expands in cold temperatures, it can cause damage to the engine block or cylinder head. The expansion plug is made of a soft metal that will give way if the coolant freezes, preventing damage to the engine. It is important to replace damaged or corroded expansion plugs promptly to avoid potential engine damage. Part Number C0517016700 specifically refers to an expansion plug for a truck component.
