DESCRIPTION
An Expansion Plug, also known as a freeze plug, is a small metal disc that is inserted into the engine block to seal off the openings left after the casting process. This part helps maintain pressure within the engine and prevents coolant from leaking out. The Expansion Plug is most commonly used in areas of the engine block where there are no moving parts or internal components. In case of extreme cold temperatures, it can also act as a safety valve by popping out instead of cracking or damaging the engine block itself. The C0517026500 Expansion Plug is specifically designed for trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles with large engines that require robust protection against coolant leaks and pressure loss.
