DESCRIPTION
The Barrel and Plunger, also known as the fuel injection pump plunger barrel, is a component of the fuel injection system in diesel engines. The barrel houses the plunger, which works to pressurize fuel and deliver it to the engine's combustion chamber. The plunger moves up and down within the barrel, creating high pressure that forces diesel fuel through the injector nozzle into the combustion chamber. This process ensures efficient combustion and power output from the engine. A faulty or worn out barrel and plunger can result in decreased engine performance, increased emissions, and even engine damage if left unaddressed. Regular maintenance of this component is crucial for optimal engine function.
