DESCRIPTION
The Barrel and Plunger, also known as the Injection Pump Plunger Barrel Assembly, is a vital component of a diesel fuel injection system. The barrel consists of a cylindrical tube that houses the plunger, which moves up and down inside it to deliver fuel to the engine's combustion chamber. As diesel fuel is pumped into the barrel, it forces the plunger upward against spring pressure until it reaches its maximum height. At this point, the fuel is injected into the engine's combustion chamber through an injector nozzle. The accuracy and timing of this process are crucial for efficient engine performance. A malfunctioning barrel and plunger can lead to poor engine performance or even complete failure.
