DESCRIPTION
The Sea Water Pump (Part Number: 5265995) is a crucial component of a marine engine cooling system. Its main function is to circulate water from the ocean or sea through the engine's heat exchanger to dissipate excess heat generated during combustion. The pump is typically driven by an accessory belt attached to the engine crankshaft pulley and draws in seawater through an intake hose located on the bottom of the boat hull. The impeller inside the pump housing then forces water through a series of chambers, where it cools down and exits back into the ocean via an exhaust hose. It is important for this pump to be regularly inspected and maintained, as any failure can lead to overheating and potentially catastrophic damage to the engine.
