DESCRIPTION
A seal retainer, also known as a bearing retainer, is a component that is used to hold seals or bearings in place. It is designed to prevent the seal or bearing from moving out of position due to vibration, friction or other forces. The seal retainer is typically made of metal and may be bolted onto the housing of the component it secures. It may also have a lip or flange that helps to keep the seal in place and prevents fluid from leaking out. Seal retainers are commonly used in truck engines, transmissions and differentials where they play an important role in maintaining proper lubrication and preventing contamination of internal components.
