DESCRIPTION
The Forcing Screw, also known as Part Number 3163508, is a component of a truck's steering system that is used to apply pressure to the steering gear sector shaft when adjusting the sector shaft lash. It consists of a threaded rod with a handle on one end and a pointed tip on the other that is inserted into the steering gear housing. As the handle is turned, it pushes against the sector shaft, allowing for adjustments to be made. The Forcing Screw is an essential tool in maintaining proper steering alignment and should only be used by trained professionals.
