DESCRIPTION
A Captive Retainer Cap Screw, also known as Part Number 4383005, is a type of screw commonly used in trucks. It is designed to prevent the screw from falling out or becoming loose during operation by incorporating a retaining feature that holds it in place. This feature can be a captive washer, a locking mechanism, or other similar designs. The screw itself has a cap head with an external hexagonal drive for easy installation and removal using common tools. Captive Retainer Cap Screws are often used in critical applications such as suspension systems, engine mounts, and other high-stress areas where vibration and shock loads can cause conventional screws to fail.
