DESCRIPTION
A mechanical seal is a component used in S-W pumps, identified by part number 3015501. It is responsible for preventing fluid leakage between the pump's rotating shaft and stationary housing. The seal consists of two flat surfaces, one attached to the shaft and the other to the housing, which are pressed together with a spring force to create a tight seal. This prevents fluid from escaping while also keeping contaminants out of the pump. The mechanical seal must be properly installed and maintained to ensure optimal performance and prevent premature failure.
