DESCRIPTION
The idler shaft is a rotating component that supports and guides the movement of the engine's accessory drive belt. It is typically located near the front of the engine and is driven by the crankshaft. The idler shaft helps to maintain proper tension on the accessory drive belt, which in turn drives components such as the alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor. The Cummins® part number 5467068 refers to a specific idler shaft designed for use in Cummins® engines.
