A shutoff valve, also known as a fuel shutdown solenoid valve or fuel shut off solenoid, is a component of a truck's fuel system that controls the flow of fuel by shutting it off completely. The shutoff valve is typically located near the injection pump and can be activated either mechanically or electronically. When activated, the valve blocks the passage of fuel to the engine and stops it from running. This feature can be particularly useful in emergency situations where immediate engine shutdown is required to prevent damage or injury.
