DESCRIPTION
A shutoff valve, also known as a fuel shutoff solenoid, is an essential component in a diesel engine's fuel system. The shutoff valve controls the flow of fuel from the tank to the engine and is typically located on or near the injection pump. When power is applied to the solenoid, it opens and allows fuel to flow through it. Conversely, when power is removed or interrupted, the solenoid closes and stops the flow of fuel. This functionality makes it crucial for preventing engine damage in case of emergencies such as fires or accidents. The 4019957 shutoff valve is a specific part number commonly used in heavy-duty trucks and other diesel-powered vehicles.
