DESCRIPTION
A shutoff valve, also known as a fuel shut off solenoid, is an electrical component that controls the flow of fuel in a diesel engine. The shutoff valve is typically located on the fuel injection pump and is controlled by the engine's electronic control module (ECM). The part number 4902741 refers to a specific type of shutoff valve used in certain types of diesel engines. When the ECM signals the shutoff valve to close, it stops the flow of fuel to the injectors, which causes the engine to stall. This can be useful for emergency situations or for preventing theft of vehicles with diesel engines.
