DESCRIPTION
The starter solenoid, also referred to as a starter relay, is an essential component of a truck's starting system. It is responsible for engaging the starter motor and connecting it to the battery when the ignition key is turned. The solenoid consists of a coil that creates a magnetic field when energized by the battery, which then pulls in a plunger to make contact with two terminals. This action completes the circuit between the battery and starter motor, allowing it to turn over and start the engine.
