DESCRIPTION
A crankshaft spacer is a component in an engine that sits between the crankshaft and the flywheel or flexplate. Its purpose is to properly position the flywheel or flexplate against the crankshaft so that they are perfectly aligned. The spacer can also be used to adjust the depth of engagement between the starter gear and flywheel teeth. In some cases, a thicker spacer may be required if an aftermarket clutch or flywheel is installed that changes the location of these components. The part number 3253562 refers to a specific crankshaft spacer model designed for use in certain truck engines.
