A spark plug wire, also known as an ignition cable, is a component of the ignition system that carries high voltage electricity from the distributor or ignition coil to the spark plug. The wire is typically made of a conductive core covered by a layer of insulation and a protective outer jacket. The spark plug wire is responsible for delivering the electrical current needed to create a spark in the engine's combustion chamber, which ignites the fuel and air mixture necessary for engine operation.
