DESCRIPTION
A Spark Plug Gap Gauge, also known as a feeler gauge, is a tool used to measure the gap between the center and ground electrode of a spark plug. The correct gap ensures proper ignition and combustion of fuel in the engine. The tool typically consists of several thin metal blades with varying thicknesses marked in both imperial and metric units. To use, simply slide the blade between the electrodes until you find one that fits snugly without forcing it. The measurement on this blade indicates the gap size. A properly gapped spark plug is essential for optimal engine performance and longevity.
