DESCRIPTION
The idle spring plunger (ISP), also known as the idle control valve, is a small component located in the carburetor of a truck's engine. Its main function is to regulate the amount of air that enters the engine while it's idling. The ISP works by controlling a small valve that opens and closes based on signals from the truck's computer system. When the engine is idling, the ISP allows just enough air into the engine to keep it running smoothly without using too much fuel. If there's an issue with this part, such as a clogged or damaged valve, it can cause problems with idle speed and fuel efficiency. Proper maintenance and replacement of this part when necessary can help ensure optimal performance for your truck's engine.
