DESCRIPTION
A Pressure Temperature Sensor, also known as a PTS, is a component found in trucks that measures both the pressure and temperature of a fluid. It is essential for monitoring the engine oil and coolant levels to ensure the truck is operating within safe parameters. The PTS works by using a diaphragm to detect changes in pressure and temperature, which are then transmitted to the engine control module (ECM) for analysis. If the readings fall outside of acceptable ranges, it can trigger an alert on the dashboard or even cause the ECM to reduce engine power to prevent damage. The 4928386 part number corresponds specifically to a Cummins engine sensor used in various truck models.
