DESCRIPTION
The thermostat housing is a component in a truck's engine cooling system that houses the engine's thermostat. The part number for this particular component is 172032. The thermostat housing is typically made of metal and connects to the engine block and radiator hoses. Its purpose is to hold the thermostat in place and ensure proper flow of coolant through the engine. When the engine reaches operating temperature, the thermostat opens up, allowing coolant to circulate through the radiator and back into the engine block through this housing. A malfunctioning or damaged thermostat housing can lead to overheating, coolant leaks, or other issues with your truck's cooling system.
