DESCRIPTION
The thermostat housing is a component of the cooling system in an engine. It is responsible for holding the thermostat, which regulates the flow of coolant through the engine. The housing itself is typically made of metal and is bolted onto the engine block or cylinder head. Coolant flows from the radiator into the housing and then through the thermostat, which opens or closes depending on engine temperature to maintain optimal operating temperature.
