DESCRIPTION
A thermostat switch, also known as a temperature switch or thermal switch, is an electrical component used in automotive engines to regulate the flow of coolant. The thermostat switch is responsible for monitoring the temperature of the engine and activating the radiator fan or sending a signal to the engine control module (ECM) to adjust fuel injection and ignition timing accordingly. The 3408643 model is specifically designed for use in trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles. It typically features a durable metal casing and is located near the engine block or on top of the thermostat housing. If a malfunctioning thermostat switch goes unnoticed, it can cause overheating and potential damage to the engine.
