DESCRIPTION
A thermostat is a component found in the cooling system of a truck that regulates the temperature of the engine by controlling the flow of coolant. The part number for this specific thermostat is 3696214. When the engine is cold, the thermostat remains closed, allowing coolant to circulate within the engine block until it reaches operating temperature. Once this happens, the thermostat opens and allows coolant to flow through to the radiator, where it can be cooled before returning to the engine. This process helps maintain optimal operating temperatures for efficient performance and prevents overheating.
