DESCRIPTION
A thermostat is a component in a truck's cooling system that regulates the temperature of the engine by controlling the flow of coolant. The 3971420 part number corresponds to a specific type of thermostat that is designed for use in certain models of trucks. When the engine is cold, the thermostat remains closed, preventing coolant from circulating through the radiator and allowing it to warm up quickly. Once the engine reaches its operating temperature, however, the thermostat opens up and allows coolant to flow freely through the system, thereby maintaining a stable temperature range.
