DESCRIPTION
A thermostat is a component that regulates the temperature of the engine by controlling the flow of coolant through it. It is typically located in between the engine and radiator, and opens and closes according to the temperature of the engine. When the engine is cold, it stays closed to allow it to warm up quickly. Once it reaches its optimal operating temperature, usually around 190 degrees Fahrenheit, it opens up to allow coolant flow through. The part number 4922277 refers specifically to the model number for this particular thermostat used in certain trucks. It is important for proper functioning of an engine as overheating can cause serious damage if not addressed promptly.
