DESCRIPTION
A thermostat housing is a component that encases the thermostat in a vehicle's engine. The thermostat is responsible for regulating the temperature of the engine by controlling the flow of coolant. The housing is typically made of aluminum or plastic and contains a gasket that prevents leaks from occurring. It is connected to the engine block with bolts and houses the thermostat, which opens and closes based on temperature changes to allow coolant to flow through the engine. A damaged or malfunctioning thermostat housing can result in overheating and serious damage to an engine, making it important to ensure this component is properly maintained or replaced as needed.
