DESCRIPTION
A Threaded Insert (part number 3101599) is a type of fastener used to provide a threaded socket in a material that is too thin or weak to support threads on its own. It consists of a metal sleeve with internal threads and knurled edges for grip, which is inserted into a pre-drilled hole in the material. The external surface of the insert is often coated with an adhesive or resin to improve its holding power. Once installed, the insert provides a secure anchor point for bolts or screws that can be easily removed and replaced as needed. Threaded inserts are commonly used in applications such as automotive body panels, furniture assembly, and electronics manufacturing where reliable thread retention is essential.
