DESCRIPTION
A Threaded Insert, also known as a helical insert, is a cylindrical metal fastener that is used to reinforce and repair threads in materials such as aluminum, magnesium, and other soft metals. The 3164445 model is specifically designed for use in trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. The insert has external threads that match the size of the damaged or stripped hole it will be inserted into. Once in place, the insert provides a new set of threads that are stronger than those originally present in the material. This allows for bolts or screws to be securely fastened into the material without any risk of stripping or damage to the surrounding area. The threaded insert can be installed using specialized tools such as an insertion tool or hand installation tool depending on application requirements.
