DESCRIPTION
A breather tube, also known as a crankcase breather or vent tube, is a component in an internal combustion engine that allows fresh air to enter the crankcase and exit any harmful gases or excess pressure. The breather tube helps prevent oil leaks by regulating the pressure inside the engine and preventing oil from being forced out of seals and gaskets. It typically consists of a small hose that connects to the valve cover or oil filler cap and runs to the air intake system. The Breather Tube with part number 2886409 is designed for use in specific truck models and should be replaced if it becomes cracked, brittle, or clogged with debris.
