DESCRIPTION
The Manifold Pressure Tube, also known as the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor Tube, is a component found in most diesel engines. Its primary function is to measure the pressure of air entering the engine and provide this information to the engine control module (ECM). This data is used by the ECM to calculate fuel delivery and adjust engine timing for optimal performance. The Manifold Pressure Tube typically consists of a metal or plastic tube that connects from the intake manifold to the MAP sensor. It should be checked regularly for signs of wear or damage, as a faulty Manifold Pressure Tube can lead to poor engine performance and decreased fuel efficiency.
