DESCRIPTION
The Breather Tube, also known as the crankcase breather hose, is a component of a truck's engine that allows air to escape from the crankcase. It is typically made of rubber or plastic and connects the valve cover to the air cleaner or intake manifold. As the engine runs, pressure builds up in the crankcase due to combustion gases passing by piston rings and other areas. The breather tube provides a path for these gases to exit and prevents them from building up and causing damage or leaks within the engine. The 4996834 part number refers specifically to a breather tube designed for use in certain truck models.
