It is responsible for emitting gases and vapors that are produced during the combustion process from the crankcase to the air intake system. The breather tube ensures that there is no pressure buildup within the engine, which can cause damage to other components such as gaskets and seals. It also prevents oil from being pushed out of the engine through leaks or other means.
