DESCRIPTION
The Turbocharger Thrust Bearing (part number 3591532) is a component that is responsible for reducing friction and wear between the rotating turbocharger assembly and the stationary housing. It is located at the rear of the turbocharger shaft and helps to stabilize it by absorbing axial thrust loads. The thrust bearing consists of a set of small ball bearings that are housed in a cage, which allows them to rotate freely while maintaining their position. During operation, oil is supplied to the bearing to help lubricate it and reduce heat buildup. A worn or damaged thrust bearing can cause excessive play or noise in the turbocharger, reduced performance, or even complete failure over time. Regular maintenance and inspection can help ensure proper function and longevity of this critical component.
