DESCRIPTION
A turbocharger kit is a collection of components designed to increase the power output of a truck's engine. This particular kit, with part number 4955948, includes a turbocharger assembly, mounting hardware, and gaskets. The turbocharger itself is a forced induction device that compresses the air entering the engine, allowing more fuel to be burned and producing more power. The kit also includes an exhaust manifold that directs exhaust gases into the turbocharger to spin its turbine wheel. The compressed air is then sent back into the engine through an intercooler to lower its temperature before it enters the combustion chamber. Installing this kit can provide significant increases in horsepower and torque for trucks that are designed to handle it.
