DESCRIPTION
The Valve Cover is a component that sits on top of the engine cylinder head and covers the valves. It is bolted in place and sealed with a gasket to prevent oil leaks. The cover may have an opening for an oil filler cap, as well as provisions for mounting various sensors and other components. The Valve Cover is typically made of aluminum or plastic, and may be painted or polished for aesthetic purposes. In addition to providing a protective cover for the valves, it also helps to reduce engine noise by encapsulating them within the cylinder head. Overall, the Valve Cover plays an important role in protecting and maintaining the proper operation of the engine's valve train.
