DESCRIPTION
A valve collet is a small but vital component of an engine's valve train. It is a small metal clip that fits over the top of the valve stem and holds it in place against the valve spring. The purpose of the collet is to ensure that the valve stays closed when it needs to be, preventing any unwanted air or fuel from entering or escaping from the combustion chamber. Valve collets are typically made from high-strength steel and are designed to withstand extreme temperatures and pressures. They are used in a wide variety of engines, including those found in trucks, cars, boats, and aircraft. If a valve collet fails or becomes damaged, it can cause serious engine problems such as misfires, decreased power output, or even catastrophic engine failure.
