DESCRIPTION
The Valve Cover is a component located on top of the engine which covers the valves and rocker arms. It is typically made of metal or plastic and attaches to the cylinder head with bolts or clips. The valve cover serves to keep oil from leaking out of the engine and also protects the valves and rocker arms from dirt and debris. Some valve covers may have built-in ventilation systems to allow excess pressure to escape from the engine.
