DESCRIPTION
The Valve Cover is a component of an engine that covers the valves and rocker arms. It is typically made of metal or plastic and is secured to the top of the cylinder head with bolts or screws. The purpose of the valve cover is to prevent oil leaks from the top of the engine while also providing protection for the valves and rocker arms. The valve cover also serves as a mounting point for other engine components, such as breather hoses and PCV valves. Over time, valve covers may develop cracks or leaks due to age or exposure to high temperatures, which can result in oil seeping out onto the engine block. Regular inspection and replacement of worn valve covers can help prevent potential engine damage caused by oil leaks.
