The valve cover is a component of an internal combustion engine that covers the top of the cylinder head. It is also known as a rocker cover or camshaft cover. The valve cover seals the top of the engine and prevents oil from leaking out. It is usually made of metal or plastic and has gaskets to ensure a tight seal. The valve cover also provides access to the valves, which are responsible for allowing air and fuel into the cylinders and expelling exhaust gases. Over time, the gaskets may wear out, causing oil leaks or allowing debris to enter the engine, which can lead to damage. In this case, it may be necessary to replace the valve cover or gaskets.
