DESCRIPTION
A vent tube is a small, cylindrical component that is typically made of plastic or rubber. It is designed to allow air to flow in and out of the fuel tank in a truck. The vent tube helps to prevent pressure buildup inside the tank, which can cause damage to the tank or other components of the fuel system. It also helps to prevent fuel from leaking out of the tank due to changes in temperature or pressure. The vent tube is connected to the top of the fuel tank and extends up towards the engine compartment, where it terminates at a vent valve or charcoal canister. In some trucks, it may also be connected to other emissions control systems such as an evaporative emissions system (EVAP).
