DESCRIPTION
The Viscous Vibration Damper (Part Number 3101655) manufactured by Cummins® is a component used in commercial trucks. This part helps to reduce and absorb the vibrations produced by the engine, specifically the crankshaft. It consists of a housing, a viscous fluid, and a series of plates or springs. The damper is connected to the front end of the crankshaft and works by utilizing the viscosity of the fluid to dampen the torsional vibrations created during engine operation. This helps to minimize stress on the crankshaft and other engine components, leading to smoother engine performance and increased durability.
