DESCRIPTION
The Transmission Oil Temperature Sensor, also known as MC111680, is a vital component in a truck's transmission system. It measures the temperature of the transmission oil and sends this information to the engine control module. This data is used to adjust the shifting strategy and prevent damage to the transmission due to overheating. The sensor is typically located on or near the transmission housing and consists of a thermistor that changes resistance as the temperature of the oil changes. A malfunctioning Transmission Oil Temperature Sensor can cause incorrect shifting, decreased fuel efficiency, and potentially lead to costly repairs.
