The Spring Brake Control Valve Assembly, also known as part number MC826409, is a crucial component in the braking system of a truck. It is responsible for controlling the application and release of the spring brakes on the vehicle. The valve assembly is typically located near the air compressor and consists of several components including a control valve and a spring brake valve. When air pressure is applied to the control valve, it releases the spring brake valve, allowing compressed air to flow to the brake chambers and apply the brakes. Conversely, when air pressure is released from the control valve, it activates the spring brake valve, which returns the brakes to their released position. This process ensures that the truck can safely come to a stop and remain stationary when parked.
