DESCRIPTION
The clutch switch, also known as ML234768, is an electronic component found in vehicles equipped with manual transmissions. When the clutch pedal is engaged, the clutch switch sends a signal to the engine control module (ECM) to disengage the cruise control and/or prevent the engine from starting. This safety feature ensures that the vehicle does not unexpectedly accelerate or start while the driver is shifting gears. The clutch switch is typically located near the top of the clutch pedal and can be easily replaced if it becomes faulty.
