The Exhaust Valve Seat, also known as the exhaust valve insert, is a component of an internal combustion engine that serves as a surface for the exhaust valve to seal against. It is typically made of a heat-resistant material such as hardened steel or bronze alloy and is press-fit into the cylinder head. Over time, the exhaust valve seat can become damaged or worn due to high temperatures and repeated contact with the valve. When this occurs, it can cause loss of compression and decreased engine performance. Replacement of the exhaust valve seat requires specialized tools and should be performed by a trained mechanic.
